In 2017, Wright public sites around the country celebrated the 150th anniversary of Wright’s birth with exhibitions, special tours, publications and new ideas. Building upon the momentum of the past year, the directors of Wright public sites across the country have once again been invited to attend a collaborative three-day summit jointly organized by the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy, the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and The Johnson Foundation at Wingspread.
Similar to our successful 2014 summit at Wingspread, this event, March 26-28, will explore how Wright public sites can capitalize on the interest in Wright while addressing the ways visitors want to experience historic houses in the 21st century. A series of peer presentations and group discussions will cover topics including the visitor experience, site operations, innovative tour programming and interpretation, collaborative marketing, preservation maintenance and more. We look forward to welcome close to 40 public site representatives for another productive retreat.
