Here is a link to an article in the latest issue of Preservation, the magazine of the National Trust For Historic Preservation. This issue also has an article about the story of the Park Inn hotel in Mason City. I'll post a link to that article in another thread.
Congrats to our own John Eifler on the article, the fantastic restoration of the nearly lost Ross Residence, and most importantly, on your new home. May you and yours spend many happy years there. You've certainly earned it.

Kudos John, the house and article are great.
Your introduction of green technology was sensitively done and will serve the house well. The kitchen you designed skillfully acknowledges that restoration to the original configuration would yield a space unworkable in a present day house, and creates something new: respectful of the original architect's stated principles, and very handsome in its own right. |
