The Foundation needs to discard the antiquated, incestuous policy with regard to hiring of faculty if it is serious to turning the school around. Just hire top flight educators that will attract students interested in a quality education. It is critical to hire talented faculty that understand the design principles of FLW as opposed to those that studied under someone, who studied under someone, who studied under Wright. The FLW School of Architecture is the most underachieving school of architecture in the country. It needs to evolve or face certain death. The potential is there. What is needed is that they look to the courage and independent thinking of Frank Lloyd Wright for inspiration. If you build it they will come.

I don't detect any difference in attitude or the likely success of the school, which frankly has no reason to exist any more than the fellowship. For years the best of whatever genre in architecture initiated by Wright, has been produced by those with no Taliesin connection.



The appointment of Sidy is a travesty and shows a continuing lack of imagination. His post modern/deconstructionist garbage is an insult to Frank Lloyd Wright's memory. He obviously was agreeable to the Fellowship just as they were to Olga, a safe, unquestioning "believer".



The Foundation has had a number of quality outsiders who tried to address their problems years ago, but were choked at every turn. BBP's and other comments can only lead one to believe that not much has really changed. Only necessity is dragging them kicking and screaming into the present, let alone the future.
