HOUSE HISTORY:

140 MAIDEN LANE, located in the epicenter of Union Square and surrounded by international luxury brands Prada, Hermés, Chanel, and Gucci, is the City’s only Frank Lloyd Wright building. Originally constructed in 1948, 140 MAIDEN LANE is a stunning small-scale prototype of Wright’s design of the Guggenheim Museum. It distinguishes itself by way of its intricately laid façade of sand-colored brick, accented with backlit glass, and an arched entryway. Its open interior, featuring circular themes and constructed of luminous poured concrete, is awash with natural light diffused through a ceiling of frosted globes. In 2000 Aaron Green, Wright’s protégé, directed a seamless structural upgrade of the building, invisible to the eye. 140 MAIDEN LANE contains 7,077 square feet on three levels:
2,352 SF (ground floor), 1,177 SF (2nd floor), and 2,948 SF (basement). Amenities include an ADA-compliant elevator, three restrooms, and a dumbwaiter. The building is currently occupied by a gallery on a month-to-month lease, but can be delivered vacant at the close of escrow.
